On Sunday the 17th of November 2019 Setanta Orienteers are hosting a Come and Try It event at Hellfire Wood. The event will be signposted from Stocking Lane.
Start times will be between 11am-1pm and the courses will close at 3.00pm sharp.

Start Times: 11:00 – 13:00
Location: Grid Ref. O 219 179 Knocksink Woods, Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow.
Directions: From Enniskerry village head North on the R117 for about 800metres. The entrance road is on the left. CAUTION! There may be runners along this 700m stretch of road to the car park.
Parking: the car park is not very big and carpooling is encouraged.

Congratulations to Zoe Tyner, the winner of this years Annual Club Championships and the Brian Power Shield.
Well done to Laurel O’Connor who claimed 2nd place and to Philip Brennan who came 3rd – full results are below along with some pictures.
Many thanks to Mick Mangan for planning and organising the event which included a friendly social gathering afterwards in The Blue Light, along with tasty refreshments and a short and sweet Club AGM.
Parking Update: Club members will have access to parking within the park. Just put eircode D18 K2N4 into google maps. The Park’s Enniskerry Gate will be manned from 2.00 to 2.20pm, and there will be an O kite hanging outside.

24 Hour Rogaine – 1st Female Team: Roisin McDonnell SET and Ruth Lynam, Curragh-Naas (4th overall).
6 Hour Rogaine – 1st Female Individual: Eileen Walsh SET who also won 1st Female Vet (5th overall).
Paul Mahon SET, also won a prize coming in 3rd place on the 24 hour with his team mate Donal Burke, Defence Forces.

Hi, and thank you to all who entered the Rogaine Ireland 2019. Below are some final briefing notes that you may find useful.
The event base is at Oakwood Hostel (grid reference 034 018). It is on the R756 and is about half way between Laragh and Hollywood. Watch out for the orienteering signs and kites at the forest entrance. Parking will be along a forest road and will be between 200m and 500m away from the hostel. The Irish Orienteering Championships were held last weekend in Fermanagh, thanks to Fermanagh Orienteers and Lagan Valley Orienteers. There was a good turn out from Setanta members.
Congratulations to the Setanta prizewinners: Angus Tyner who was placed 2nd in the M50 category on each of the 3 days!
Maura Higgins who placed 3rd in the W70 category on Sunday. The ‘SET 1’ relay team, consisting of Angus Tyner, Hazel Thompson and Brendan O’Connor, who placed 2nd in the Handicap 12 relay race.
