Djouce Woods – 3rd March 2024
We are holding a ‘Come and Try it’ event in Djouce Woods this coming Sunday 3rd March. We will be using the middle car park for assembly and not the normal main car park. Courses are as follows.
Short -2.1k with 50 Meters of climb. 10 controls with taped routes.
Technical short-2.6km with 50 meters of climb. 10 controls.
Medium-4.1km with 200 meters of climb and 13 controls.
Long-6.5km with 350 meters of climb. 19 controls.
Djouce has been resurveyed and re-mapped by Pat Healy, areas of veg change, new open areas and new point features have been included in the new map. The area has lots of tracks some good open forest running and small areas of felled forest that can be crossed or navigated around.
The Short route is suitable for beginners and young families, unfortunately, it is not suitable for buggies. It is taped where line features are indistinct. The other courses are of a TD 4/5 standard, and offer plenty of route choice, runability, and climb.
