Christmas Walk 28th December

Philip Brennan is organising the annual Christmas Walk, traditionally held on 28th December each year. Here’s the details :

“Evening all, this year’s walk is a circuit of Glenmacnass, meeting @ 9am In Laragh & ready for departure @ 9.30am. We will leave a couple of cars at Glemacnass Waterfall Car Park in case some want to finish up at this point.
Looking forward to a good day in the hills, not too long , not too short, finishing before dark – no headtorches necessary!

Sad news – Tommy Caffrey, a former longstanding member of Setanta, died on Wednesday 1st December. Tommy’s civil ceremony will take place tomorrow in Mt Jerome Crematorium at 2:30pm, details on rip.ie :

Wine and Chocolates

We are running our annual wine and chocolate orienteering event this coming Saturday. The event will be at Vartry Reservoir just outside Roundwood on the R755. Parking at the new Vartry Lakes car park with starts between 2:30 – 3pm.

Rogaine 2017 – Report

What a great competition and record numbers at the Rogaine Ireland event this weekend 🙂

Overall winners of the 24 hour were Nigel Mc Kernan & Colin Buckley who were finished ahead of Colm O’Cnoic & Seamus O Boyle with both teams having the same number of points scored.

The 3rd places team was 3 person one consisting of Andreas Kusch, Matt Bush and Paul Morrissey whilst the first mixed team home was the veteran pairing of Don Short & Ruth Lynam in 5th place overall.

Eileen Young & Heather woods were the first female team home in 9th overall.
