On Sunday the 17th of November 2019 Setanta Orienteers are hosting a Come and Try It event at Hellfire Wood. The event will be signposted from Stocking Lane.
Start times will be between 11am-1pm and the courses will close at 3.00pm sharp.

Parking around Hellfire Woods gets very congested every weekend so please car pool if you can and kindly follow the car parking marshals instructions, parking will be on forest road at top of Hellfire Woods car park.
Registration will be at top of car park and registration fee’s will be:
Fees: EUR 5.00 per person. Family EUR 12.00
SI Rental: EUR 2.00
It will be possible to pay by SumUp which is an online debit card payment system.
There will be three courses on offer, the Map Scale is 1:7500
Approximate Course Details:
Long – Experienced Orienteers – 5.5km – 17 controls – 240m climb
Medium – Novices – 3.9km – 12 controls – 135m climb
Short – beginners – 2.5km – 12 controls – 105m climb
The short course is ideal for beginners and small children. The medium course is suitable for novices who wish to have a more challenging course than the short course. If you feel like you wish to run through the woods rather than just on the paths and tracks, then the medium may be for you. Both the short and medium courses will have control descriptions in both English and symbol format. The long course is more suitable for more experienced competitors.
Some light refreshments will be available after your run at registration. We encourage the use of your own cups and cutlery and ask you to remember – Leave No Trace.
