Club Championships and orienteering restart
As most of you know orienteering has recommenced after the lockdown with some park events over the last couple of weeks. Pretty much all are pre-entry now. It was good to see some Setanta faces taking part. Leinster League and provincial championships are scheduled from September onwards, so there is lots to look forward to. The Leinster Champs is already taking entries. Details are on the IOA fixture list. Obviously things are subject to change, so keep an eye out for any cancellations or alterations.
We will be running our club championship as scheduled on Saturday 12th September in the changed venue of Djouce Woods. Entry is free with good family friendly courses to suit all. Unfortunately, due to government restrictions, we cannot hold the club annual general meeting along with the club champs as we have done over the last number of years. The intention now is to hold the agm virtually with the officers reports sent to members in advance. We don’t have a date for this yet, but probably end September/start October timeframe is most likely.
Take care, stay safe and hopefully see you out in the forests and hills again soon.
