Ballyward Leinster League 24/2/19
On the 24th of February 2019 Setanta Orienteers are hosting a Leinster League in Ballyward forest. Ballyward is a medium sized very runnable wood with a great mix of linear and point features, and without one single bramble. The map has been recently updated by Pat Healy. Some felling has taken place recently but it shouldn’t interfere with the courses. It will still be very runnable even with some felling.
Course details are;-
Brown 7.3km 180m climb 19 controls
Blue 5.8km 130m climb 15 controls
Green 5.0km 120m climb 15 controls
Light Green 3.9km 110m climb 10 controls
Red 3.8km 110m climb 11 controls
Orange 2.9km 95m climb 10 controls
Yellow 2.5km 70m climb 9 controls
None of the courses are buggy friendly

Sportident timing will be used. For those without an SI card, the cost of hiring a card is €2 with a charge of €40 if it is lost by the competitor (so don’t lose it).

Non IOA club members: Senior €10, Junior/Student/OAP/Unwaged €7, Family (two seniors max.) €25

Important note: Parking will be along the forest roads. The laneway into the forest is over 400m long and is a single track. Therefore, all cars must be in the forest on or before 12:30pm. No car can leave the wood until after 12:30pm. Please obey the parking officials. Your co-operation with this necessary arrangement is greatly appreciated. If any competitor needs to leave earlier than 12:30 some parking places may be accommodated. Please only request this if you need to. Ballyward isn’t the easiest place to manage traffic so please be patient with us.
Looking forward to it.
